It's been about a year since I started seeing Eduard. I don't miss him in the least and many days can go by without my thinking about him at all.

I went to see Cheryl at her work the day I left my parents' town. She works for the city animal shelter and has been there four years. I helped her clean the dog runs and stuff. Sad that those beautiful animals will most likely die. There was one dog that had been hit by a car that Cheryl put down. I tried to soothe him while Cheryl gave him the injection. And then I cried like a baby. Someone had to mourn his loss.

Oh god there's so much in this world that's so wrong. The animals pain me the most, because they live at the whim of man.

I pains me as well that things live at the whim of man. We should live at the whim of others (well, things bigger than viruses or bacteria). This is the main reason why I prefer to give to charities like the WWF or environmental causes like "Save the Bay".

That is so sad. You know sometimes I watch the Animal channel and they have those shows about Animal Cops. Sometimes, when they rescue an animal, they give the animal certain tests. They go through the whole thing of getting them to perfect health, where they are shiny and new and are able to live again. Until that fatal test. Sometimes like when they are eating out of the bowl, a plastic hand is thrusted into their face. If the dog reacts and bites the hand, they put them to sleep!! All that and they kill it. I'm sure there are ways they could keep that animal alive and TRAIN them so that they don't bite when someone puts their hand in dog food.

I recently gave to www.bestfriends.org. They're an *awesome* animal welfare organization.

As for dogs and their food, it should just be common sense to stay away from an animal while it's feeding, even a pet. My dog Phoebe has bitten (my dad and me on separate occasions) when guarding her food ... it was the fault of the person, not her.
